Friends of Anstey
We have an especially dedicated parents' group, The Friends of Anstey School, who have raised many thousands of pounds towards extra facilities for our school.
There are usually 2 main fund-raising events which the PTA organise yearly:
- Fairy and Fantastical Creatures Festival
- Christmas Fair
Additionally our school are always part of the Anstey Village Summer Fair, manning games stalls and face painting. The proceeds from this event are split between the School, the Church and the Village Hall.
These events are a lot of fun for everyone involved as well as raising significant funds to provide additional resources and special opportunities for our children and for the village.
The money raised by our dedicated group of parents, staff, friends and family has amongst other things paid for:-
-
many of our school trips (Welwyn Roman Baths and Mill Green Museum, theNuclear Mud Race, Boxend Aqua Park, Computing History Museum, Shepreth Wildlife Park, Lee Valley Farm and Celtic Harmony Camp are some of our favourites)
-
the Christmas Pantomime
-
our fabulous outdoor climbing challenges
-
Rocket Phonics reading scheme, stock of books and resources
-
our school mud kitchen
-
large wooden Early Years construction blocks
All this would not be possible without the help of the members of the Friends, the school staff, parents and wider community who give us their support.
The Friends hold their AGM in September and everyone is welcome to join the committee as either a member or a helper. Please talk to Chelsie Gough who leads the PTA - if you're a new parent, just ask any member of staff or another parent.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED.
