Our Vision

The learning community of Anstey First School has a shared vision that every child deserves to be successful and become the best they can be.  We challenge and develop our children to achieve their best by nurturing creativity, resilience and self-reflection.  We encourage a strong community spirit, where we show consideration and respect for each other; tolerance and understanding of differences, and uphold kind, well-mannered behaviour.  We strive to help our children develop into responsible and culturally aware citizens in a modern Britain.  We want our children to become independent lifelong learners and to leave a positive mark on their world.

Steps to Success 

Pupils learn that our Steps to Success are the building blocks of a great attitude to school, learning and life. They know that if they want to show our values, they need to use these steps. These were developed by Chris Quigley, who is another inspiration for our school. 

Imagine – How could this be different? Don’t be afraid to try! 

Improve – How could this be even better? Is it the Best it Can Be? 

Concentrate – work through to the end. 

Don’t Give Up – even if it’s hard! 

Understand Others – see things from another perspective. 

Try New Things – enjoy the excitement of something new, without worries. 

Work Hard – learning happens when you’re out of your own comfort zone. 

Push Yourself – a determination to achieve more than before.
